about

The Bundy Bunch is a three-piece garage-punk ensemble hailing Bergen Norway. Made up by Ole Marius Saltvik (guitar, vocals) Martin Engelien (bass) and Markus Hjelmaas Matland (drummer, vocals, producer).

The band saw daylight in the fall of 2019, and has since its inception done nothing... Until now!.. Well about.. 12 weeks-sih ago… ANYWHO! Gearing up for the release of their self-titled debut EP (25/08/2022), the band have been playing their native Norway and has become favourites of Bergen’s thriving underground punk scene.

The recording sessions were fuelled by cheap beer and the DIY spirit of bands and scenes that have come before them. Written and produced as a collective, with the mixing duties being done by drummer Markus Matland and mastered by audio guru Eirik Marinius Sandvik. The result is a crisp and equally filthy sound that can be at home in a dingy club and on commercial rock radio. Their last single ‘Postman’ & 'Flower Boy' gained praise from the likes of Shell Zanner and Frankie Francis on Amazing Radio in the UK, Norway’s national radio station NRK P3”s “Urørt” section and A-listed at Bergens student-radio.

Track by track from the band:

Postman
"It’s a high tempo acid punk ballad, drawing inspiration from bands such as Thee Oh Sees, King Gizzard and The Beatles."

Flower Boy
“Ear piercing garage punk masterpiece. Written on the spot with the help of an old Garage Band demo, the lyrics are simple, catchy and flips off toxic masculinity."

BSU
"A more laid-back garage rock track, about the pointlessly empty feeling of being alone in a big city filled with friends. The sound of the song is reminiscent of bands like Skegss, with elements inspired by Norwegian rock icons Death by Unga Bunga."

Belushi Speedball
"The first song was written together by the band, “Belushi Speedball” is another laid back track, and a tribute to the late great comedian and Blues Brother John Belushi, who died from a lethal combination of cocaine and heroin, or a “speedball”.

POS
"A fast-paced, whilst tempo-changing punk rock track, this is the second re-recorded song on the EP. The lyrics is about being completely sober at 3 am in a car with someone filled with poppers, and were written in the frustration of being screamed at as it happened."
